What is Hyalite Canyon?

Hyalite Canyon on the Gallatin National Forest near Bozeman, Montana is the most frequently used Forest Service canyon in the entire state of Montana. As a result, the area requires added management and investment to maintain adequate infrastructure and amenities as well as to educate the public to promote responsible use and stewardship. As one example, to keep the road snowplowed and open for public use from the beginning of winter to April 1st requires and estimated expense of $29,208.

Just getting off the ground

Hello Friends!
Thanks for your interest and love of Hyalite Canyon. This blog is currently a simple landing page for our domain hyalite dot org. We are in the middle of helping support the incredible Bozeman Ice Climbing Festival and will be getting back to improving our web presence soon!
